How many times have you said that you wanted to accomplish something but never really began taking steps toward your goal?
I used to tell myself that I would start working toward my goals when the conditions were perfect – when I had more free time or when I had more money. I was afraid to make a move until I felt I could do everything perfectly. I would also give myself such a wide timeline in which to accomplish my goals, that somehow the day never came to take action. My goals would sit, often for years, on a piece of paper just waiting for me to bring them to life.
What I learned through being part of The GROUP was that I never needed to wait for any of these “perfect” conditions to appear in order to begin making meaningful headway toward my goals. When taking steps toward a goal you can even be - dare I say - messy or imperfect. You can make mistakes! Yes! The important thing is that there is movement. This movement creates momentum. To quote our book: It is better to take action - any action - than to sit on the fence, afraid that you might make the wrong move.
Think of one step that you can take toward your goal. Even if the step is as simple as making a phone call, write this step down where you can see it. In the course of the next week make it your joyful priority to accomplish that one step. Just continue identifying and taking the steps, even if they are seemingly small and insignificant. They are the stepping-stones that lead you to your dream.
